Iseltwald and several other Swiss destinations were selected in 2019 to be part of a 16-part Netflix series with their beautiful landscape.
The romantic TV drama "Crash Landing on You" is about a woman who comes from South Korea and ends up unconscious in North Korea through no fault of her own. The problem: crossing the border between these two countries is an absolute no-go.
However, the North Korean army officer who finds her falls in love with her instead of punishing her. She also falls in love with him, which is why viewers are treated to 16 episodes of drama, romance and suspense. When both realize that they have met before in Switzerland, there are regular flashbacks to their time together in the series.
The "Piano Steg" in Iseltwald
In the 3rd episode of "Crash Landing on You", army officer Ri Jeong-hyeok (played by Hyun Bin) remembers his time as a piano player. He plays a song he composed for his brother on the jetty in Iseltwald.
This jetty is just a few minutes' walk from our Hotel Chalet Du Lac and is definitely a beautiful place to linger, dream and simply unwind.
Our tip: In the evening, you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets from this jetty. Ask us at reception for a good bottle of wine and enjoy this moment as a couple.
The walk to the Giessbach Falls
In another scene, army officer Ri Jeong-hyeok and parachute pilot Yoon Se Ri (played by Son Yejin) walk along the beautiful Lake Brienz towards Giessbach and the Giessbach Falls. We have published a detailed hiking route to the Gi essbach Falls for you here.
